Ponderosa Fire Department recently celebrated the grand opening of brand new Fire Station No. 63 with BRW College Station!
Friends, family, neighbors and even BRW clients Aldine and Spring Fire Departments showed up for the dedication ceremony. After local Boy Scout Troop 62 raised the flag and posted colors, Fire Chief Fred Windisch presented BRW with a commemorative plaque.
Our third project with the Harris County ESD No. 28 in northern Houston, this station added on to an existing fire training facility equipped with a burn tower, training props, and storage buildings. Now the site includes living quarters for 11 firefighters, pull-thru bays for 3 trucks, and a training wing that includes an exercise room, training room, and an outdoor classroom.
The upgrade from their previous facility needed some serious teamwork to become a success. Special recognition was given to contractor Lynn Foster of LDF Construction and Assistant Fire Chief Tony Spitzenberger who strived to keep communication open and to ensure project success. The ceremony ended with the entire Ponderosa Fire Department pushing Engine 63 into the station – a fresh start for a worthy team!
Congratulations on the completion of a successful project to BRW team members Ray Holliday, AIA, Daniel Pesek, AIA, Lesley Gaston and Garrett Barker.
