Sprinting to Completion!

BRW Architects is delighted to announce that the NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Complex is almost finished!  The complex, nestled amongst the highly developing athletic corner of the Prairie View A&M University campus, is the first phase in a multiphase project to provide state of the art Track and Field facilities for the University’s top tier quality athletes.

The track has been carefully designed to meet the highest standards for IAAF facilities, with the Hellas Construction team making extra efforts to ensure those high standards are met.   Field events are located in the center of the venue on a USGA quality drain through field, with a 48” 8-lane epIQ Z50000 running track to offer superior performance at the perimeter.  With seating for 1,000 spectators, careful consideration has been made to provide the infrastructure necessary to run top tier meets and have the ability to expand in the future.  On site meetings with timing system experts have offered encouragement that this one-of-a-kind venue will be one of the premier collegiate Track and Field venues in the State.

From beginning to end, the facility has been designed and constructed with elite athletes in mind. Good thing too, because the brand new facility is poised to host the USA Olympic summer training camps while they prepare for the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro!

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of May 2016.  Stay tuned for more exciting developments to come!
