UTA PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE VISITS BRW

Professor David Messersmith, FAIA and several of his students from the University of Texas at Arlington Architecture program recently visited BRW Architect’s studio in Dallas.  The group of graduate students will all be graduating from UTA’s Master of Architecture program this May.  As part of the requirements of the course, students visited a series of working architectural offices during the business day to witness first-hand the daily routine and the current project coordination taking place in the studio.

Several members of the BRW staff presented a selection of active projects, a brief review of the firm’s almost 30 year history, and some recent project/client presentations.  The small group of future architects was briefed on the daily process of marketing within a medium size firm; examples of the RFQ process were displayed, the importance of print and electronic media was discussed and the efforts of building relationships through business development strategies were shared.

During each of the various sessions students were able to meet and interact with staff members of varying levels of experience and expertise.  Question and answers sessions followed each portion of the tour through the studio.  Special thanks to the BRW team, including Managing Principal Craig Reynolds, FAIA, Alexis Flores, AIA, Chris Sano, AIA, Andrew Evertson, AIA and the entire BRW marketing staff of Catherine Choberka-Khirallah, Lori Lampe and Malia!
