I really hate running. Wait, no, that isn’t strong enough. I LOATHE running.
Despite this completely unexaggerated fact, I somehow found myself running at the Dallas Center For Architecture’s 2nd annual Form Follows Fitness Race. I discovered something important during the race: when you really hate doing something, you should invite all your friends, dress in something ridiculous and do that activity. With all of these things in place, it was actually quite lovely, despite the chill in the air. And what a joy it was to celebrate together with co-workers, family, friends, and the real community that has developed around Klyde Warren Park and the surrounding downtown area.
As the pictures attest, it was a really fun way to spend a Saturday morning and I hope that the BRW team will be even larger and faster next year.
Still, I detest running.
