CEFPI IMPACT AWARD

And the Gold Medal goes to…..

Today at the CEFPI North Texas Chapter meeting I got to see a high school principal smile with pride very similar to those smiles I saw over the last two weeks on Olympic competitor faces.

His school was the recipient of a $5,000 Impact Award.   Thanks to the generous support of the North Texas Chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) Fort Worth ISD Polytechnic High School got the seed money to start Family and Consumer Sciences “Poly’s Community Garden”.

The criteria for the award are as follows:

How will this investment impact the students at the school receiving the award?

How will this investment impact, encourage and promote future community involvement in the school?

Long term, how significant is the anticipated result from this investment?

There is a strong vision to have this become a ‘community garden’ as well as a school project. The development of the project will be executed by students and the surrounding community.
